Investment

The best one we have ever made, as I see this as an investment in ourselves and an opportunity to discover the beauty of the world around us no matter what the weather throws at us.

We are a family of drivers, enjoying the freedom our vehicles offer so a motorhome made sense, giving us all the chance to take off on a whim with the dogs and a fridge packed with goodies to keep our energy levels up.

Can’t say that I wasn’t nervous about picking the motorhome up without my better half but was so desperate for us to get away as soon as he returned from his work travels that I had to put my big girl pants on and with a little help from dearest daughter, we did it! Although a paper manual would have been handy as the walk through tutorial did exactly that! Walked through my head and not a lot of information stuck😣 we got there in the end…

Was so excited to fill our new home on wheels with all of the necessary stuff to get us on the road that I burnt myself out and told myself that I had plenty of time to sort out the next day before we left. So in my true style ran out of time to plan out where everything should go and dumped everything ready for sorting at our first destination.

Mr T at the wheel, we set off for Milton of Fonab site in Pitlochry, not far but far enough to try everything out including our patience with each other thanks to rain (forgot the dogs rain coats and loads of other necessary items that you can’t manage without).

Milton of Fonab is a lovely site, with a little shop (forgot coffee), bought NescafĆ© couldn’t drink it 🤢 Many happy memories of holidays at Milton of Fonab and visiting Pitlochry although I used to love looking in the windows of The Gemstone (now a chemist) with my Mum dreaming of the ruby ring I might own one day. Today I wouldn’t thank you for one, priorities and outlooks change I would give up most of my possessions now, so many things used to be important to me, now I just want to remember and share time with the folks who are with me.

Dogs thoroughly enjoyed their toddles around Pitlochry even though the swing bridge was a scary prospect for Millie and me!

Sad to leave and head back to reality even if we opted to eek our weekend out by going home via the scenic route and through Glencoe.
